The Power Macintosh 6200/75 was introduced by Apple Computer on May 1, 1995. It was discontinued in favor of the Power Macintosh 6300.
Features[]
The 6200 used the case design of the Macintosh Quadra 630 and was also released in consumer configurations as the Performa 6200 through 6310CD. It contained a 75 MHz PowerPC 603 processor. However, its logic board, code named "Cordyceps", was still based on the LC architecture, which hampered performance like its all-in-one sibling, the Power Macintosh 5200 LC.[1] Its serial port also lacked GeoPort capabilities, unlike other more advanced Power Macintosh models of the era.[2] Such cost-cutting measures made it considered one of the most compromised Macintosh models from Apple Computer.[3]
