Purgatory Design was a software developer for macOS and iOS.

History[]

Based in Durango, Colorado, the company announced Intaglio, its first commercial graphics product, in 2003 for Mac OS X 10.2. Its principal engineer, Nick Nallick, had been developing for the Macintosh since 1984.[1][2] Despite winning awards and positive reviews, the company closed near the end of 2020, causing longtime users of its software to question whether Nallick had passed away or sold his stake in the company.[3]
