QuickTime Broadcaster is an application developed by Apple to facilitate the streaming of live events over the internet to QuickTime users. It is designed to be used in conjunction with QuickTime Streaming Server.

QuickTime Broadcaster was first released on July 14, 2002 and required QuickTime 6 and Mac OS X 10.1.3 or later.[1][2]

Version 1.5 was released in Spring 2005 and required Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later. It featured improved performance and added support for live H.264 broadcasting and 3G streaming to supported mobile devices. The final version, 1.5.3, was released on January 27, 2009 and required Mac OS X 10.4.10 or later. It improved the sync of audio and video tracks when simultaneously recording streams to disk.[3][4]
