René Antonio Vega is a software engineer who developed the PowerPC-native version of the classic Mac OS nanokernel at Apple Computer.[1][2]

Vega later joined Microsoft's virtualization team formed by former Apple engineer Eric Traut,[3] where he worked on the Hyper-V hypervisor included with Microsoft Server 2008.[4] Vega founded the virtual world Discovery Grid in the summer of 2016.[5]
