Ronald B. Johnson (born October 15, 1959) was the Senior Vice President of Retail at Apple Inc. He was responsible for developing the concept of the Apple retail stores and the "Genius Bar".

Education[]

Johnson received a B.A. in Economics from Stanford University in 1980 and a M.B.A. from Harvard University in 1984.[1]

Career[]

Johnson was previously the Vice President of Merchandising for Target Corporation before joining Apple Computer in 2001, reporting directly to CEO Steve Jobs. By the time he left to become the CEO of J. C. Penney in 2011, over 200 Apple Stores had been opened around the world.[1]
