Shazam is a music discovery app that is developed by Apple for iOS, iPadOS, and watchOS.
Description[]
Icon of the ShazamKit API
Shazam was first released for iPhone in July 2008. It was financially supported by ads. By the time Apple announced in September 2018 that it had completed its acquisition of Shazam, the app had been downloaded over a billion times. Apple then made it completely free, removing all ads from within the app.[1]
API[]
At the 2022 Worldwide Developers Conference, Apple introduced the ShazamKit API to make its music recognition capabilities available to other iOS, iPadOS and watchOS apps.[2]
