Sherry Livingston was the first secretary to be employed at Apple Computer.
Career[]
National Semiconductor[]
Livingston first worked for future Apple Computer president Michael Scott at National Semiconductor.[1]
Apple Computer[]
In 1977, Michael Scott became Apple's first president and hired Livingston as employee #10, after early "garage" employee Chris Espinosa, and first production manager Jim Martindale.[2][3] That summer, Livingston met Mark Johnson, who had just graduated from high school, at the Good Earth restaurant next door to Apple's first office building in Cupertino. Johnson was recruited the next day as employee #13 in the new production department.[4] She was later joined by office manager Sue Cabannis.[5]
After Apple[]
After leaving Apple Computer, Livingston was reported to have become a grandmother.[2]
