Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is an internet protocol standard.
Description[]
Defined in RFC 1157, SNMP was developed to manage nodes on an IP network. However, it is not limited to TCP/IP. It also can be used to manage and monitor all sorts of equipment, including computers, routers, wiring hubs, and embedded devices.[1]
