The Republic of Singapore, commonly known as Singapore, is an island city-state located along the Singapore Strait in Southeast Asia.


The land area of Singapore is 709.2 km2. As of 2020, the population is estimated to be 6,209,660, making it the 110th most populous and 2nd most densely populated country in the world. [1]

Apple in Singapore[]

Apple Computer first began operating in Singapore in July 1981, when the country was only 16 years old. The first products to be manufactured in Singapore were from the Apple II series.[2]

Retail stores in Singapore[]

Apple Orchard Road, the first Apple retail store in Singapore and Southeast Asia, was opened on May 27, 2017.[3] In early 2020, all 2 existing stores in the country were temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic,[4] but both reopened on June 24 of that same year.[5] A third store, Apple Marina Bay Sands, was opened on September 10, 2020 at the Marina Bay Sands resort, the first to be constructed on water.[6]
