The Smart Keyboard Folio is a hardware keyboard and cover originally designed by Apple for the 11 and 12.9-inch 3rd-generation iPad Pros. It can also be used by the 4th generation iPad Air, which has virtually the same exterior dimensions as the 11-inch Pro model.
Description[]
Introduced in November 2018, the Smart Keyboard Folio superseded the previous Smart Keyboard for 1st and 2nd-generation iPad Pros. It is powered by a magnetic Smart Connector and does not require batteries.[1]
Product support[]
In May 2020, it was superseded by the Magic Keyboard for iPad. However, the Smart Keyboard Folio remained available for the:[1]
- iPad Pro (3rd, 4th, and 5th generation) 11 and 12.9-inch
- iPad Air (4th generation) 10.9-inch
