The Super Bowl halftime show is an entertainment event held during the halftime break of the National Football League (NFL) championship game since 1966. It has attracted major advertising sponsors and in recent decades has become a major media event headlined by chart-topping musical performers. Performers are typically not paid directly by the NFL, but the public exposure leads to substantial increases in music sales.[1]

Held on February 13, 2022 at Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles, California, the Super Bowl LVI halftime show was headlined by Beats Electronics co-founder Dr. Dre, along with Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, and 50 Cent. The production was sponsored by PepsiCo and won 3 Emmy Awards.[2]
2023[]
Starting with Super Bowl LVII, held at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on February 12, 2023, the halftime show was sponsored by Apple Music, replacing longtime sponsor PepsiCo. A visibly pregnant Rihanna was the headline act of the show.[3] She stated that the set list had been revised 39 times to adapt her discography to fit within the 13-minute duration of the performance.[4] An estimated $21.5 million in brand exposure was generated for Apple during the event.[5] The production won 2 Emmy Awards.[6] The event could be watched through the Fox Sports or NFL apps.[7]
2024[]
Super Bowl LVIII was held at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada on February 11, 2024, with the halftime show again sponsored by Apple Music. Usher was the headline act of the show, two days after the release of his Coming Home studio album. Special guest performers included Alicia Keys, Jermaine Dupri, H.E.R, Lil Jon, Ludacris, and will.i.am. The event could be watched through CBS, Paramount+, or the NFL app.[8][9]
2025[]
Super Bowl LIX was held at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana on February 9, 2024, with the halftime show again sponsored by Apple Music. Kendrick Lamar was the headline act of the show.[10][11][12] The event was introduced by Samuel L. Jackson and featured special guests SZA and Mustard.[13][14]
