Apple in Taiwan[]
The first Apple retail store in Taiwan was opened on July 1, 2017 at the ground floor of the Taipei 101 tower.[2] The second store, Apple Xinyi A13, was opened on June 15, 2019.[3] Despite the worldwide effect of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020,[4] both stores that were operating in Taiwan at the time remained open with regular hours.[5][6]
In October 2019, it was reported that Apple had hidden the emoji for the flag of Taiwan on iOS devices in Hong Kong and Macau. It had previously hidden the emoji for devices in mainland China in 2017.[7]
