Tim Blane is a Boston Music Award-nominated singer/songwriter originally from Washington, D.C. He is the music teacher in the version of GarageBand included with iLife '09.[1]

Education[]

Blane attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston from 2002 to 2004, and received a B.A. in music and psychology from Amherst College.[2]

GarageBand[]

Blane became the GarageBand instructor after an Apple employee saw one of his gigs online and contacted him about the job. He was personally selected by Steve Jobs from an audition that attracted almost a thousand applicants.[3] In GarageBand '09 (version 5), he only identifies himself with "Hi, I'm Tim".[4]
