tvOS 26 is an upcoming major release of the tvOS operating system developed by Apple to succeed tvOS 18 for Apple TV consoles. It was announced at the 2025 Worldwide Developers Conference on June 9 and is scheduled to be released later in the fall of 2025.[1][2]

Version numbering[]

There is no tvOS 19 through 25. In June 2025, Apple revised the various version numbers of its new SDK and operating systems to unify them under "26", instituting an easier-to-remember major version number reflecting the subsequent year for future releases.[3]

Supported devices[]

tvOS 26 supports the Apple TV HD and all Apple TV 4K consoles. However, support for the Liquid Glass user interface requires a (2nd-generation Apple TV or later, and enhanced Apple Music Sing requires a (3rd-generation Apple TV along with an iPhone 11 or later running iOS 26 or later.[4]
