The USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter is a dongle from Apple that allows iPad Pros and MacBooks with USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 ports to be connected to HDMI and USB-A (up to version 3) devices. It also has an additional USB-C port for charging.[1]
Versions[]
- Model A1621 — supports HDMI 1.4b (up to 4K at 30Hz)
- Model A2119 — supports HDMI 2.0 (up to 4K at 60Hz)[1]
The newer model (A2119) was introduced in August 2019 with HDMI 2.0 support for up to 3840 x 2160 (4K) resolution at 60Hz, which requires macOS 10.14.6, iOS 12.4, or later. High dynamic range (HDR) video and Dolby Vision can also be displayed through supported devices.[2]
